Well we all survived Mardi Gras last night. As expected, the night was filled with elaborate costumes, strange characters, a few too many hurricanes, and of course, great live music which we happened to get a few videos of to show you.
After seeing the tail end of the parade on Allen, we started off at DBGBs to catch the New Orleans funk of Leeron Zydeco & The Hot Tamales. Ronnie Davis and crew greeted us with a nice bayou waltz as we enjoyed the complimentary Cajun buffet of crawfish, gumbo, and corn bread.
Next, we hurried across the street to check out our friends Ramforinkus. Dan, Brad, Evan, and the rest of the guys killed it as usual, mixing in a couple surprise Radiohead and Beatles covers during the set.
Later that night, we found ourselves right in the middle of the 12/8ths Path Band. Despite our best attempts, the video does not do the band the justice as it felt as if a marching band was making their way right through the bar.
