Tonight: Earth Day Jams at Nietzsches

Wondering what you can do to properly celebrate Earth Day?  What better way to revel in the beauty and majesty of Gaia than a fresh and funky dance party in her honor! The Family Dinner, Universe Shark, On The Sly and Effective Resolution will rock Neitzsches tonight in what is sure to be a party worthy of the goddess herself.
While you're getting your dance on you've also got the unique chance to shop consciously and pick up a very catchy T-shirt to shout out your support for Mother Earth – with your body, and your wallet.  The “Listen To Your Mother” T-shirt is perfect for music fans looking to spread awareness and support a worthy cause.  Local artist Josh Holtzman created the “Listen to your Mother” T-shirt in honor of Earth Day and is donating 15% of the proceeds to the oceans advocacy group Oceana.  Grab them tonight before they're gone! If you really can't make the show, don't despair – grab yours online or email requests to jholtz85@gmail.com.
“I just wish more people would listen to and respect Mother Earth,” Holtzman said. “Oceana is a great organization that is working to restore the oceans and do whatever they can to keep a huge life source of this planet alive.”
The Family Dinner will start things off at 10 p.m. with their blend of funky jazz rock tunes led by some killer trumpet lines. Universe Shark is second up on the main stage creating what they have surmised can best be described as carnivorous space funk. I don't know what it is, but I'm in! Those normally lonely music-less moments between sets will be filled with the consistently high-energy jams of On The Sly. Local jam super-group Effective Resolution – whose members hail from The Family Dinner, On The  Sly and the former New Clear Fusion – will end the night off with a groovy array of hip-hop and R&B influenced tunes layered with funky drum beats, smooth melodies and beautiful vocals.
