Tonight: Toubab Krewe

Toubab Krewe has performed all over the world, including some of the biggest music festivals.  Tonight, we have the privilege to see this extremely talented group perform at one of the best and most intimate music venues, Nietzsches.  Toubab Krewe was founded in North Carolina but captures the musical influences from West Africa.  The band's instrumentation includes a 21-string harp-lute called a kora, a kamelengoni (12-string harp-lute) and a soku, a Malian horsehair fiddle. They released an album last year and have been successfully touring for the past several years.  Do not miss this opportunity to see such an amazing band in a place like Nietzsches.  Its going to be great.  Also performing tonight are local groups Slykumu and Family Funktion and the Sitar Jams. Show starts at 10 pm, $13 at the door, 21+
