Tonight: Acoustic Jam with Alex Foote and Andrew Reimers

If you're looking for a laid-back evening with local, seasonal foods and the sounds of acoustic guitar, head to Merge on Delaware Ave. where Alex Foote (Free Henry!) and Andrew Reimers (The Andrew J. Reimers Country-Punk Extravaganza) will hold an acoustic jam sesh.

Foote has been keeping busy with Free Henry!, considering the group just held their CD release party last night at Mr. Goodbar for new album Ethereal Gust. Featuring a collaboration with Buffalo artist DJ Cutler, the album highlights the band's flair for funk while showcasing the strengths of vocalists/guitarists Bob Buckley and Foote, as well as bassist Derek Presti and drummer Pat Mannella, as individuals.

Reimers and his crew of country-punk enthusiasts have been working since their formation last year to seamlessly merge the two genres into a cohesive and infectious sound, that draws in listeners who may not even be fans of either style. The group's live show is the best setting in which to hear them, and for those that have, an acoustic solo set by Reimers himself should be an interesting contrast.

Tonight's show begins at 9 p.m. at Merge, located at 439 Delaware Ave.
