Japanese pop-punk girl group Shonen Knife are in Buffalo tonight for what is sure to be a great show. The band formed in the early 1980s, and quickly built up a cult following that included the late Kurt Cobain. They've released seventeen albums over the past three decades, and continue to delight audiences with their silly lyrics and adorable style. But it's not all cute and sugary - underneath the cute stuff you'll find edgy guitar riffs and driving drums. They're music is pretty grungy, but not at all morose. In fact, you can't help smiling when you hear it.
