The Drum Machine Report

Happy New Year. Buffalo is still reeling from the long drawn out Holiday season. People are downright fatigued from over indulging and partying to the max. There’s a general “blah” setting in over the city. And it doesn’t help that the cold is finally hear to stay! It’s a good hurt though; more like soreness from working out rather than an achey hangover. Everyone seems anxious to find themselves anew in this fresh era, and now is just that time for those in need of change. Buffalo’s Electronic and Dance music scene went through a resurgence in the past 2 years and has been growing incrementally. This year let us push it further, and show the world who we are as a community of artists!

This weekend there’s a handful of events where you can get fresh and nasty:

EMPIRE GRILL

Brandon Chase and Paul K’s night Friday night party continues into 2012 uptown at Empire Grill on Hertel. This week features BRANDON CHASE and PAUL KUENZI along with NATE HOWELL and AREHOUSE. With Arehouse in that upscale vibe, perhaps some classy and sexy Moombahsoul type stuff. And of course some well selected House from the whole crew.

He is playing with SUNGLASSES MIKE at Bayou on Friday night while he is in town for a minute. You can check his sleek website HERE. Or head down to Chippewa on Friday night to the Riot at Bayou, which is always pretty fucking wild.

DBGB’S or streaming live on www.waxmuseumradio.com

253 allen st. Buffalo, NY

If you need a cure for the Sunday night blues, as I tend to from time to time, you have the option of checking out more good music at DBGB’S. A good mix of styles in this lineup featuring COLIN BOARDWAY, RUFUS GIBSON, TWIST, OONA SLIM, and MEDISON. If you get there early, sample some of the updated food menu. The chef is a friend of mine and is very talented!

Take out the Holiday trash and get back on that grind Buffalo. It’s time to work hard for what you got. Much Love.
