2012 is here, and already things are starting to feel a bit apocalyptic. Snowstorms have exploded all over the east coast, Obama signed the National Defense Authorization Act into action, and most haunting of all, Harper Collins, publisher of the Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark book series, made the hairbrained decision to remove Stephen Gammell's unmistakably haunting artwork in favor of more kid friendly cartoons. We have officially become a nation of unimaginative pussies. Lucky for us, there are still artists out there fighting the good fight. The artwork for Melbourne based Gotye's single "Somebody That I Used To Know" instantly brings back memories of Gammell's timeless paintings. Bibio's remix adds a plucky, optimistic tone to the track, which will help distract you from The Nothing from Neverending Story becoming a reality.
Wow, things got pretty 80's in here.
