For many of us Buffalonians, Thursday nights in the early 2000's were synonymous with one thing; 80's Night at Rumours. The dudes would put on their skinny ties and tight pants, and the girls would hike up those frilly skirts, hairsprayed to the max, cans of Sparks in tow. Hundreds of people showed up on a weekly basis, many of them from Buffalo, ready to forget the hum-drum banalities of the previous week, and willingly accepting the fate of a hung over friday. You knew it was going to be a good night.

2008 marked the very last 80's night and since then those of us who were there have clamored for one more night; both to satiate the nostalgia and give us a chance to say our proper farewells. Well, it looks like our wish has come true. On Sunday, May 27th Rumours will be hosting an 80's night reunion to the shock and joy of many (When I heard the news all I could do was smile). Fear not that it's a sunday. That happens to be memorial day weekend, so you're probably not working the next day anyways..which means you have no excuse for missing the biggest party of the year.

A few things I should mention. Rumours is in Canada, which means you should get your passport or enhanced license IMMEDIATELY if you don't already have it. These things take awhile to process and they've been much stricter in the past year about enforcing it. Also, there is a cheap hotel right next door, so if you plan to make a night of it, do yourself a favor and don't drive drunk. Walk drunk!...next door!
