Tonight, lovers of American guitar rock will be in hog heaven when Rich Robinson plays Babeville at Asbury Hall in support of his latest solo album Through A Crooked Sun. A founding member of The Black Crowes and younger brother of vocalist Chris Robinson, Rich Robinson has been rocking a solo career and forming side bands for the better part of a decade during prolonged breaks from the Crowes. Interestingly, his solo stuff has that faint whiff of the Black Crowes, while eschewing the reliance on pastiche that sank them. Good stuff.
Memphis Tennessee's Amy LaVere and her upright bass kicks off the night's proceedings. If you like your Americana dark, sludgey, smokey and a bit eclectic, you might want to get there early. Doors open at 7 PM and tickets are $15.
