To say Toronto based alt-country trio Elliott Brood had humble beginnings is a bit of an understatement. After all, they did release their first EP, Tin Type, in a brown paper bag, and toured using a suitcase as a makeshift bass drum (see picture). Now on their third full-length, Days Into Years, which was released on their new, fittingly named label, Paper Bag Records, Elliott Brood’s sound has blossomed and even broken into the top ten of National Campus radio charts. The group will be playing at Mohawk Place tonight with fellow Canadian garage rockers, The Pack A.D. whose sound has been likened to The White Stripes and The Black Keys. If you’ve got a palate for folk, bluegrass, country, blues, or rock and have $10 ticket money to spare, then get yourself over to Mohawk tonight. Show starts at 8.
