Artist Spotlight - NüTrik

Analog Analog Analog.  If there is one word I'd like to hammer into electronic music producers everywhere, it's this one.  Between Orbital's most recent album, to the stunning NüTrik 1.0 EP from LA Producer NüTrik that I'm currently listening to, the proof is in the pudding.  Analog just sounds better, plain and simple.  I'm not sure if NüTrik intends on splitting the EP up into tracks or maintaining the single 38 minute mix that I'm listening to, but the release works great as a unified piece of music.  One complaint I've always lobbied against the LA Beat scene is how samey it can sometimes be.  NüTrik, however,  maintains a solid rhythmic variety throughout the release, dipping into dancehall, mid tempo house, and even - dare I say it - a little dubstep wobble.  Despite all that, the real attraction here is the synth work.  NüTrik displays a deft hand at analog gear, oscillating layers of melodies, pads and basslines in all their imperfectly perfect glory.  Look for the NüTrik 1.0 EP when it drops on June 7th.  In the meantime, check out the track "Head Explosive" below.
