Concert Review: The Hood Slung Tour (Star Slinger & The Hood Internet)

Sunday night proved that no matter the circumstance of the day, Buffalo's loyalty to the music scene holds strong.  Whether folk were crossing the stage to get their long awaited diploma or handed their mother a card and kissed them on the cheek, many piled into their cars to head to Soundlab for Star Slinger, The Hood Internet and Chrissy Murderbot for The Hood Slung Tour hosted by MNM Presents.

Chrissy Murderbot warmed the room up with juke and dancehall.  The Hood Internet followed with an amazing set of mashup tunes with a stunning light show of flashing squares and diamonds.

"After I'm done with this bullshit you're about to see Star Slinger," said a humbled STV SLV (pronounced Steve Sleeve.)  Although the crowd cheered in anticipation for Star Slinger's upcoming set, they definitely gave the half of Hood Internet's duo a deserved amount of applause.

Star Slinger soon followed; on either side of his set up were cube blocks that lit and changed effervescent colors.  "Keep slingin'!" could be heard yelled from a loyal listener over the intrepidly boss transitions.  Everyone stayed till the very end of the show until it was time to go home and possibly dread the Monday morning sun.

"It was noisy [out there]," said Darren Williams (Star Slinger) after the show, chuckling and pleasantly satisfied.  "If it's not, I make up for it with my noise."
