Oh 90's pop punk; How we have missed thee! For those old enough to remember, SoCal (Southern Californa) punk exploded in popularity in the early nineties with bands like NOFX, Pennywise, Lagwagon and Good Riddance leading the charge. Another of those bands, Strung Out, was as popular as those groups, or even more popular depending on where you lived (I know they had a HUGE SF presence). Strung Out were a bit harder, and had a darker feel but were no less melodic and certainly just as good in terms of their songs. If I had one word to describe them it would be fast. Today it was announced that the group, going over 20 years strong, would be playing Mohawk Place August 2nd with the Darlings and Handguns. Adding to the excitement, the band will be playing both of their classic albums Suburban Teenage Wasteland Blues AND Twisted by Design in their entirety. If you're a fan of the Fat Wreck Chords era of music or just need an excuse to burn off some pent up aggression in the pit, this is your show.
