Just yesterday, Signo Vinces, the collaborative duo of Steak & Cake founder Brandon Schlia and Leah Loefke of Love Scenes, released their Kids Undercover EP.  The 7 track EP contains covers from the Killers, Chairlift, Tom Waits, and more.  The standout tracks include a very She & Him esque "Friday I'm In Love" by the Cure, and "Passenger Seat", which is what the song may have sounded like if the Postal Service, not Death Cab for Cutie, had recorded the tune, that is until a very crunchy riff takes over at the track's conclusion.  The most surprising cover is their take on Chris Issak's "Wicked Games".  The duo successfully maintains the original's dreamy feel while doing the impossible:  making it not sound incredibly cheesy.

The first part of the covers series, the Sweeird EP, is a remix collaboration from Schlia and his RackMasta band mate Jordan Jones as they took on a handful of classic television theme songs including The Golden Girls, Family Matters, and more.  You can stream the entire EP at Steak & Cakes' bandcamp page.
