buffaBLOG takes the Pitchfork Music Festival July 13th-15th

The very first festival I attended was the Intonation Festival back in the summer of 2005 at Chicago's Union Park.  The festival, which was headlined by Tortoise and the Decemberists, gave me many great moments:  my introduction to the Wrens, my first of what would become many Broken Social Scene shows, and my initial hate of the Go! Team.   Originally only curated by Pitchfork, the festival would later fold in 2007 as the highly influential music blog pulled out to debut their own festival in 2006.

The 2012 version of the Pitchfork Music Festival will once again return to Union Park on July 13-15th with headliners Feist, Grimes, and Vampire Weekend.  This year will mark my return, along with fellow buffaBLOGGER James Wild, to the festival, but this time as members of the press.  Over the next few weeks, James and I will break down the schedule, especially some of those tricky conflicts (Grimes or Godspeed You! Black Emperor?  Hot Chip or Chromatics?) touch on some of the festival's great after parties, and or course during the festival, give our daily impressions and hopefully some great interviews.  Tickets to the Pitchfork Music Festival are still available on a daily basis (3 day passes sold out some time ago), and can be purchased right here for $45 a pop.  Check out a video below of one of last year's headliners, Animal Collective, from the 2011 festival.
