Tonight at Mr. Goodbar, The Tins and The Screaming Jeans will play a four set showcase. The Tins have been busy with testing new material live over the last couple months. As we previously posted, the band had been hard at work in the studio recording their first full length album, but the money ran out and have had to put their recordings on hold. They recently began a 59 day Kickstarter campaign that runs to September 9th in hopes to raise the final $8000 needed to recording the remaining six tracks to the album. At the time of this posting, the band has raised almost $2000, after less than two weeks of donations, so hopefully they are well on their way to reaching their goal.
Also playing tonight are indie rock four piece ensemble The Screaming Jeans. The relatively new band has been playing non stop around Buffalo since they formed in the beginning of 2011. Still supporting their debut EP, which was released back in April, the band plans to get back in the studio once temperatures in Buffalo drop below insufferable, or most likely this fall, to record their follow up EP. In the mean time, the band remains busy, with gigs at the Elmwood Ave Festival of the Arts, Buffalo Infringement Festival, and even at the Bidwell Farmer's Market all in the works.
Both bands are set to play two sets tonight, alternating to give the previous act a breather. The show begins at 11:00pm. Cover is $3.
