As part of our coverage of this year's Infringement Festival, we are previewing some select groups to expose to our readers. Our first group are the eclectic, eccentric, and electric Bloodthirsty Vegans. The BTV are a six piece that blend vintage ska (think Madness or the Beat) with jam rock, funk, and hip hop, in an often humorous way. Despite their irreverence, and their antics on and off stage, local poet and frontpersons MC Vendetta and My Rap Name Is Alex manage to balance it with insightful and thought provoking rhymes. Though the band's lineup has changed several times, they consistently grab their audience's attention, are definitely a must see during this year's Infringement Festival. They played the Merge Infringement Circus this past Saturday, but be sure to check them out at Aug. 6th at noon at buffaBLOG's Broadway Market Rooftop Extravaganza.
