Sigur Ros' Mysterious Inni Video

Sigur Ros are up to something.  Just yesterday, the band posted a strange video of grainy concert footage on their website.  The clip begins with what sounds like snippets of both "Staralfur" and "Flugufrelsarinn", both off the band's debut album Agaetis Byrjun, before a gorgeous, heartbreaking melody plays over chaotic live footage of the band that at times resembles an old silent film.  The word "Inni" both begins and ends the short video, kind of like how Lost always began and ended with the word "Lost".  So what is Inni?  Well, the band has not released a new album since 2008, so it very well could be an upcoming release.  Maybe the band has a live concert album in the works, something the band has yet to do unless you count their coming home film Heima.

Lead singer Jonsi recently announced he would be contributing music to the new Cameron Crowe film We Bought a Zoo(yes please!), but Inni seems to be a full band project so scratch that idea.  Details should emerge in the coming weeks, but you can sign up to be on the band's mailing list on their website in hopes of receiving some further information on their upcoming project.
