The critics can't get enough of the David Wax Museum. Named 2010's "Americana Artist of the Year" by the Boston Music Awards, the group, featuring multi-instrumentalists Suz Slezak and David Wax, has been on fire as of recent with praise from NPR and Time magazine of all places. Despite the Americana categorization, the Museum are really a hodgepodge of all things great about folk music. They blend traditional American folk roots with Mexican son music using instruments such as the quijada and jarana to develop a full, beautiful sound. If you have no idea what those instruments are or what son music is, your not alone. All you need to know is that it sounds great and you should go see them. The group hits the Ninth Ward tonight (7pm). Check it out.
