These Louisiana cousins called Painted Palms have been turning heads everywhere lately. After making a giant splash in the Indie world with their remix of Lord Huron's "Mighty," they were instantly picked up by Secret Canadian, and had their album Canopy pushed right to the production line. Painted Palms is currently riding their last tour as support for Of Montreal and are continuing to do big things. Their most recent attempt was taking on the Dirty Projectors. For this cover, Painted Palms give their take on "I Will Truck," one of my favorite Dirty Projectors songs. Painted Palms adds their interesting electronics mixed with some chillwaveesque breakdowns. The beauty of this cover is it gives the listener a new take on this track without destroying the integrity of the original. Hopefully this cover can brighten up this very gloomy day that we have here in our fine city.
