Rolling Stone reported yesterday that Can, the German experimental rock band from the '60s and '70s, will be releasing a 40th-anniversary edition of their acclaimed album Tago Mago on Nov. 14, with two box sets to follow next year. If you've never heard of Can, you should check them out; they're often identified with the German Krautrock movement, but their music really defies any traditional classification. If you only listen to one song, check out "Halleluwah" (YouTube video below), an 18-minute odyssey of funky rhythm and experimental yelps and riffage. Or, if you want to know how most people these days find out about Can, listen to this, and then listen to this Kanye West song.
