Now, I will often be the first to step up and express my discontent for Ryan Adams. I appreciate his music and respect what the man has done with his music career, kicking drugs, being married to Mandy Moore. All extremely huge accomplishments, I just have just never been too fond of listening to him for extended periods of time. I actually do like the new track "Lucky Now," that Adams pushed out two weeks ago off his upcoming release Ashses & Fire, but when someone picks up their acoustic and decides to cover an Iron Maiden song, all I can do is applaud that person and soak it in. Last week on BBC Radio 2, Adams donned his acoustic and tackled Iron Maiden's "Wasted Years." Already a dark song, Adams manages to put an acoustic swing on the songs main metal riff and make the track much more eerie. The guitar picking on this track is gorgeous. Ry Ry is the on top of his game for this cover, and can only mean great things for his new album on October 11th.
