the stone roses

In the summer of 2010, I was lucky enough to be in London, England for three weeks for a study abroad program. While there, I met an old high-school friend who had moved over to Europe for college. He and his friends turned me on to a band called The Stone Roses - I'd never heard of them, but they are huge over there. In the early '90s, they were on the same level as other British bands like Oasis, Blur, and Radiohead. The group disbanded in 1996, but now, for the first time since then, the band is reuniting, beginning with two shows in their hometown of Manchester, with a world tour to follow in 2012. The band's sound is quite versatile, ranging from blues-rockers like "Driving South" to softer indie-rock like "Ten Storey Love Song" to extended dance tracks like "Fools Gold."

Yes, glad you discovered them. They were like a new Beatles to the 90s scene, or as close to that as you can get with one album and no major hits.
Fools Gold is mint as f###.
They also had a magic when they played, unlike pretty much all current bands who are frankly shit in comparisson. Up the Roses!!!
