Drop-In Nation Education creates programs for out-of-school youth as well as underemployed and unemployed adults to continue their education, and Albright members Matthew Crane and Brandon Barry are no strangers to the cause having worked with Drop-In co-founder Stacey Watson while the two were part of Americorps. Completed by Joseph Donohue III and Aaron Odden, this isn't the group's first rodeo when it comes to charitable acts holding with their album release show this past June benefitting the Give for Greatness campaign, and signing on to be part of Buffalo First!, and initiative to support local businesses and preserve the community of Buffalo.
Though the group's influences span a number of genres its roots are clear, even taking its name from our city's iconic Albright-Knox Art Gallery. After releasing their latest album Ask, Tell in June 2011, the Albrights experimented with theatre in contributing to MusicalFare's Dust-bowl era take on the Charles Dickens' classic, Oliver! With Donohue at the helm as the production's Musical Director, the group was booked from September through October and is now ready to return to the rock stage.
Tonight's all ages show begins at 9:30 p.m. and has a $4 cover charge.
