If your ears haven't filed assault and battery charges against you in a while and that makes you uncomfortable, then definitely head down to Allentown tonight for the Sonorous Gale show (Nietzsche's, 248 Allen St., 9pm, $5). This two-piece has been a staple of loud, loud Buffalo line-ups for years, blasting their proggy sludge noise at countless basements and dive bars full of melting faces. You wouldn't believe the amount of sound they generate with just bass and drums, unless of course you've been one of those faces. Tonight's show also features Bone Vapor, who described themselves as “this insane machine of riff assault” in a recent buffaloshows.net post. And just to lull your ear drums into a false sense of security, The Mordaunt Sisters will be providing their slow, wasteland folk. Or, well. Nothing is rushed about them; they took months to get the full band together and start releasing music, and I haven't seen them in a while, so who knows. Maybe they're spazzcore now?

Sonorous Gale added a guitarist last April and is no longer a duo. Still loud though.
Ah, I hadn't seen them since the Pissed Jeans show in '09. I was wondering how they were gonna pull off those solos... Thanks.
