Steve Aoki, founder of Dim Mak records, is a man of many talents and accomplishments. Well known electro house producer and DJ, he not only co-produced banging tracks like "No Beef", he has also put out great and well-known remixes like Kid Cudi's "Pursuit of Happiness". The tracks he has released reach very diverse crowds; they can range from a hot item in a DJs crate to a song blaring from speakers at a college house party. Also performing tonight is dubstep DJ, Datsik. A DJ who is prominently known for releasing singles and EPs with Excision, Flux Pavilion, 12th Planet, and many other big names. Last New Years Eve at a warehouse rave in New York City, his remix of "U Don't Like Me" dropped and had pretty much everyone's middle fingers up. To this day, it still gets me amped about my haters. (Yeah, I said it.) Angger Dimas is also on the tour. The name of the track speaks for itself with his remix of "I Like That", his sound is high energy. The moment I heard his remix of Sebastien Drums and Avicii's "My Feelings for You", not only did I fall in love but it was on replay, daily.
Opening the show is Solidisco, a moniker for the collaboration effort between Buffalo's very own DJ Dstar and DJ Biacco. Solidisco is disco house--a fresh modern zest for a classic genre. They are putting a contemporary spin (totally unintentional pun) on disco, a genre that has been present throughout the decades. If you're there tonight, definitely show some love and support for our successful Buffalo DJs. Peep their soundcloud.
Get groovy, funky, hyphy and grimy tonight with this wonderful lineup at the Ballroom.
Get a taste of what will be there, check out these tracks.
