Rolling Stone launches another javelin into my brain with this most recent issue's cover featuring Deadmau5 and the headline: "The Clubs! The Festivals! The Drugs! And the DJs who Rule the World!" referring to Deadmau5, Skrillex, and Swedish House Mafia. Now despite the issues you and I may have with that titling, it's kinda crazy to see on the cover of RS. I jokingly said to Mario Bee "They're ruining all of our (secret) fun." to which he laughingly concurred. But I was later reminded by someone else, that Electronic and Dance music has continuously come in and out of the fringe of popularity. That is true; however, it is becoming a scintillating topic being volleyed between the critics, fans, and artists. My opinion is that it's all a product of the Music and Entertainment business. What's popular right now, is what's making money right now. Simple business. Becoming fresh with what's or remaining alluringly illusive is entirely up to you. Tastes are personal.
Party lovers rejoiced with the announcement of the Bass Mountain Music Festival featuring DIESELBOY at the Cloud 9 campground in West Valley, NY. The two day festival will run August 3-5 and is another addition to the already fun Summer here in WNY. This weekend is a little light as far as events go but here's whats worth checking out:

SOUNDLAB

This incredible diva first caught my attention in the first episode Diplo's shorts series entitled 'No One is Safe.' The pilot is about New Orleans Bounce music, the associated booty dance, and the sub-genre of Sissy-Bounce spearheaded by Sissy Noby and Big Freedia. The party and the gals will flock to Soundlab. Ass-clappin gonna happen. Also on the bill are Buffalo kooky rapper JACK TOFT and DJ MARIO BEE.
DISCO NIGHTS

Who doesn't love Disco House? People without a heart. Just kidding. Duke's has put together this lineup that is making the chicks cream prematurely. Sexy beats and strong beverages are on the docket. And with DJs BEARSKIN RUG, THE OWSKI, RY DIGGS, and RUFUS GIBSON playing to your fancy. I've been crushing over Ry Diggs' sets lately and Rufus Gibson has really been bringing the Funk back into the house. You won't want to miss out on this party.
Be easy Buffalo. You can be mad, just don't stay mad. Much love.
love the intro to this post. if i hear someone complain one more time about trap music...
