Every Tuesday, the Market Arcade (Buffalo's favorite non-profit, community owned movie theater) host a film seminar in partnership with the University at Buffalo that highlights an often unusual & thought provoking movie. The film is introduced by Diane Christian and Bruce Jackson and after the film concludes, the attendees are invited to stay for an open discussion that usually proves just as enjoyable as the film itself. This weeks film is The Long Good Friday(1980) directed by John Mackenzie. According to IMDB, the film is about "a prosperous English gangster who is about to close a lucrative new deal when bombs start showing up in very inconvenient places. A mysterious syndicate is trying to muscle in on his action..." hmm, sounds explosive! I have yet to see a bad film at these seminars and that trend looks like its going continue tonight. Plus the movie has a 95 rating on Rotten Tomatoes! Tickets are $9 general admission, and $7 for students. Movie starts at 7pm.
