A new year approaching means a clean slate for all. It is an opportunity to reflect on what has transpired, and consequently what the future may hold. This coming year of 2012 feels somehow different. Amidst the “end-of-the-world” prophecies and looming financial crisis of the West, 2012 has an murmured energy now that is quickly becoming louder. Perhaps we have reached the end of a great cycle, that remains to be seen. But 2012 will be whatever you make of it. May the new year bring good health and good fortune to everyone.
The Christmas Party again proved to be a classy affair full of debauchery. Almost too crowded, the party pushed you onto your friends in a way that you almost couldn't not give someone a big old hug! That’s a good thing. To feel the love in the air sounds like a dumb description but was truly indicative of last Sunday night. An unbelievable set from Medison was the highlight of the night. He had ladies taking turns dancing on the subs. And the night’s end with Steve Kream ripping out “Niggaz in Paris,” and ripping off his shirt in the process was simply the tits!
New Year’s Eve in Buffalo is always a little lame. I’ll say it. I prefer to do it up NYC or Toronto or Philly; to live the “cafe-society” life on such an important night. Alas this year, I fucked up, I will remain. But it seems as though Buffalo is kinda stepping it up this year. You have the re-opening of the Statler Tower Ballroom for a sold out New Year’s celebration. Tux and Pucks is back for the Sabres (insert negative Buffalo sports fan comment here). And there are a few other joints where you can boogie down to some dance music. Here’s where it’s at:
