First of all, I'd like to thank all the local promoters who've been putting together some truly excellent bills in recent months - we've been treated to some great shows by both local and long-distant acts this year. Second of all, it doesn't stop! Tonight, the Town Ballroom (681 Main St.) will be hosting Sleigh Bells, the bubblegum-meets-metal partnership of Derek Miller and Alexis Krauss. Since 2008, the duo has been turning out poppily infectious, deceptively heavy tracks, with the former relying on his hardcore guitar background (ex-member Poison The Well) to arrange some quite dance-able grind-crunk beats, and the latter laying down indelibly catchy vocal hooks. The group has become internet darlings, and I'd be willing to bet they're a good time live, too. Support comes from Class Actress and Jel, so head down for 8pm doors, $24 day-of tix, and what might amount to one of the best shows to hit town this summer.
