Tonight: PVRE MATRIX

Tonight Buffalo's production duo, Foundry, will be hosting an evening of experimental, ear throbbing electronic music. PVRE MATRIX will be rolling into town from Brooklyn and gracing our ears with his corner of the genre's wide spectrum: sinister, metallic, and atmospheric 4/4 tracks via drum machines and analogue synths. Joining him will be FLEX1000, Buffalo's very own Ay Fast and UVB-76, and a secret unnameable guest. I guess the only way to satiate your curiosity is by attending.   The event begins at 7:30PM and a $5 donation is suggested. See ya there.

Tonight: Fire Death and Ilza

And just in case Limp Bizkit isn't on your agenda for tonight, this evening the Vault will host an lineup of experimental music acts put together by Foundry, an up and coming production company based in Buffalo. The event will feature Cleveland based Fire Death (in the territory of free jazz coupled with heavy electronics) and Ilza (minimalist / atmospheric). They'll be accompanied by local sound troubadours VWLS, Ay Fast, and Kevin Cain. Doors open at 8PM and $5 will let you through. See you there.

Tonight: FOUNDRY Launch Party - Night 2

Tonight marks the second evening of Foundry's two night launching event at Soundlab, and in case you weren't aware, Foundry is the new production company based in Buffalo focusing on bringing performances and installations that are a product of both "inspired artistry and unconventional aesthetics." As their mission statement might suggest, it'll be a night of exciting, experimental electronic music, driven by beats and reverberations that will steer your head space into hazy, foreign territory. On the lineup is Container, the one man techno connoisseur who will throw everything-you-thought-you-knew-about-techno  somewhere out of sight. As the event-page describes, Container proves that "techno can be sloppy, unordered, punk, and, above all, casual. It's lopsided, asymmetrical and unevenly weighted." Unicorn Hardon, Timeghost, and local favorites UVB-76, and Ay Fast will be gracing the stage as well with equally distinct beats for your aural enjoyment. Tickets are $8, and doors open at 8PM.

Tonight: FOUNDRY Launch Party - Night 1

Tonight marks the kickoff of the new production company, FOUNDRY, with a night of music at Soundlab, Buffalo's favorite basement sound cave. FOUNDRY, founded by Kitchen Distribution runner Frank Napolski and Adrian Bertolone of Ay Fast, is focused on artist installations and performances. Looking at the lineup of their launch party, I'd say they're off to great start. From the hypnotic synth looping of Quicksails to the ferocious syncopation of All Of Them Witches, there is something for everyone on tonight's bill. Also look for sets from Tropical Me and Frank Napolski himself with Patrick Cain. Doors are at 8.

Introducing FOUNDRY

A new production company has formed in Buffalo and will be making it's debut later this week.  FOUNDRY, headed by former Kitchen Distribution runner Frank Napolski and Adrian Bertolone of Ay Fast, is "focused on presenting performances, installations, and happenings that influence a convergence of inspired artistry and unconventional aesthetics," according to their mission statement.  Napolski explains that FOUNDRY is "loosely functioning" as a production company at the time being, currently in "an amorphous vibe that isn't tied to a specific site."

FOUNDRY will kick off later this week with a two night launch party at Soundlab on Thursday, Feb 28th and Friday, March 1st, featuring headliners Quicksails and Container, as well as additional support from UVB-76, Pat Cain, All of Them Witches, and more.  Full lineups and additional info on the launch party can be found at the event page.

Keep an eye on the FOUNDRY page as "future installations, immersive experiences, and of course parties..." will be announced this spring,  including performances from Mist and Co La.
