Tonight: Kinda Like Dreamin

After wallowing in a post-Thanksgiving slumber, make your way down to Hardware tonight as Buffalo hip hop duo, Kinda Like Dreamin, make their triumphant return to the Queen City. This time of year is always about catching up with those you haven't seen in a while after all. Since relocating to Washington D.C. and NYC respectively, former EVC members Sammy Booms and Dr. Ooo have worked on their own solo projects, while remembering their Buffalo beginnings.

The hip hop tag team will be playing the back room of Hardware tonight, beginning at 12am, along with the party DJ duo of Spooky Business. Get there early to catch turntablist extraordinaire Camacian Sensation (and to save a couple bucks) in the front room all night long. Cover is $3 before midnight, $5 after.

Tonight: Kinda Like Dreamin'

To be honest with you, I am sick of this end of the world crap.  It's annoying.  The fact that I am sitting here at my desk typing this means those Mayans didn't know crap.  Oh well.  Since we are all still here, might as well enjoy some music tonight.  And if hip-hop is your bag, then head down to Hardware tonight for the return Buffalo's best hip hop duo.  After a great performance at our holiday party last week with Mic Excel, Dr.Ooo welcomes his Kinda Like Dreamin' partner in crime Sammy Booms back to Buffalo for the holidays and for a performance tonight at Allen Street Hardware.  Joining them on tables will be DJ Cutler, with the Chillharmonic Orchestra also throwing things down.  As you can see by the above flyer, music gets going at 11pm.  $5 will get you through the door.

Kinda Like Dreamin drops video for single "Still Guessin"

Playful Buffalo hip-hop duo, Kinda Like Dreamin’, have dropped their single “Still Guessin’” off their debut album titled Next Question. Comprising of local emcees Sammy Booms and Dr. Ooo (who we featured acouple weeks ago), the duo is raw and their laidback, mellow sophisticated rhymes are appealing to hip hop heads beyond the Buffalo scene. Fans of A Tribe Called Quest, Digable Planets, or Little Brother would dig Kinda Like Dreamin.  You can download the album right here and can choose to pay “2 bones, 5 bones, I’d drop 7, or 10 mah’s.” Check out the video for the single below.

Kinda Like Dreamin's Dr. Ooo debuts single

Buffalo-based emcee, Dr. Ooo, debuted his single today, “Windstar,” off his upcoming, yet–to-be-named mixtape. The single was produced by California’s Phedee and recorded in Buffalo’s EVC Headquarters. This fresh-faced rapper is also the front man to one of Allentown’s regulars, Kinda Like Dreaming. Fans of Earl Sweatshirt, Atmosphere, or Tyler the Creator would dig Dr. Ooo’s quirky, catchy, and clever rhymes devoted to his out of commission minivan. Check out the video below. Also, is anyone else in the mood for a ham and cheese lunchable?

Tonight: Kinda Like Dreamin

Kinda Like Dreamin (or K.L.D.) are a Buffalo based Hip Hop group featuring 2 emcees. Hip-Hop purists, they rap over smooth beats without a lot of crazy effects or deviations. Repping your hood is important in the hip hop community, and these guys are no different. In fact the chorus of  "Lowkey" features the lyrics: "This from my neighbors to your neighbors in the seven sixteen, the city of forgotten dreams and the tireless teams, we call it the nickel hoping that a change gon' come, they say it's right around the corner so let's raise one up". Yep, I think it's safe to say these guys are born and bred.

Releasing their debut album soon, tonight's show at DBGBs starts at 10PM.
(note: no word on the cover charge for tonight's show, you may want to call in advance)
