The first buffaBLOG post was on March 28th of 2010 (and what a post it was).  Since then, we have written over 2200 posts,  recorded dozens of podcasts, and attended hundreds of concerts, which leads us up to today, as our little blog has turned two years old.  Tonight, we are throwing ourselves a birthday party and what better way to celebrate than with a handful of our favorite Buffalo musicians.  All week long, we have been previewing our stellar lineup of acts, which constists of Andrew J. Reimers' Country Punk Extravanganza, Early Attic, On Beta, Ramforinkus, and Voodoo Friends, but as for tonight, make sure to get to Nietzsche's for the real thing.  Music begins at 10:00pm sharp, with a cover of only $5, and goes all night long.  Be there to celebrate this great night with us.  I can only hope our birthday is as glorious as Don's was.

Reimers County Punk Extravaganza, Early Attic, On Beta, Ramforinkus, and Voodoo Friends. If you haven't seen these bands yet, then prepare yourself for some amazing music. The show starts at 10 pm and we will be there all night partying. "80s Nights" have been a big deal ever since (I'm guessing here) January 1st, 1990. But since the early 00s, I've often found myself wondering aloud when "90s Nights" would begin to take hold. If you, too, grew up in that golden, end-of-the-century era in which Rock redefined itself, and Rap was officially co-opted by white kids, then you, too, might've been wondering that same thing. Fortunately, a handful of local musicians will be making the dream a reality tonight at Duke's Bohemian Grove Bar (DBGB's, 253 Allen St., 10pm). According to the FB invite, Kurt & The Loders (featuring members of Son of the Sun, Here Come The Comets, Ramforinkus, and Sleepy Hahas) will be playing mostly heavier selections from the decade that "made them the self-loathing, obsessive, manic freakshow people they are today" - Local H, Alice in Chains, NIN - though they assure us there will be some "guilty pleasure" songs in there for good measure. 90s DJ sets and "era-priced" drink specials sweeten the deal. And speaking of guilty pleasures, I'm hoping it goes down like this:

Many folks say the night before Thanksgiving is the biggest party night of the year. Maybe it’s because we’re eager to start over-indulging, or maybe it’s just that Thanksgiving eve doesn’t come loaded with family obligations the way other holidays do. Whatever the cause may be, Nietzsche’s plans to tap into that party spirit tonight with its “Thanksgiving Eve Turkey Jam.”


Starting at 9pm, you can get your fill of great music for only $5. The main stage will host the likes of Type Relevant, Rhubarb, Universe Shark, On the Sly, and Ramforinkus, while Shapes of States and Will Folk for Food hold down the front stage.


If you’re out reveling on Allen Street tonight, stop into Nietzsche’s and feast your ears on some terrific turkey tunes.
